Only partial legislation texts shall be voted on a Bulgarian referendum

Entire codes or acts organizing and arranging a definite subject in certain area shall not be voted on a referendum. Deputies from the legal commission who prepared and discussed the Direct Participation of Citizens in the State Management Act or Referendum Act announced that citizens will be able to express their opinion only according to some parts of legislation and not entire codes and acts.


The subjected to a national referendum problem shall be considered voted (or passed) if at least 30% of the electorate participated and if gathered more than half of it positive votes. If the preposition did not pass a national referendum on the same matter could be initiated not earlier than 2 years from the date of conduct of the previous referendum. It takes 600 000 citizens' signatures to call a national referendum.


The challenge of the national referendum's results could be done in 7 day term from their announcement from Central Election Commission before a 3-member jury of the Supreme Administrative court of Bulgaria who shall pass a resolution in 7 day term.
